Lunching at Lucienne

So it’s Friday and lunch time and who doesn’t like to get out of the office for lunch?! Especially when it’s a new spot in town! So a couple of my friends and I decide to walk over and check out the new restaurant “Lucienne”, located in the new Hotel Alessandra in GreenStreet downtown Houston. Hotel Alessandra opened its doors in October 2017, it is a very beautiful hotel with simple and modern decor. As you enter the hotel, you are greeted by friendly doormen, a large beautiful stair way and small seating area. You can either go up the stairs or take the elevator to level two where the lobby, “Lucienne” and bar are located. Of course we took the elevator! You are then  greeted in the lobby and guided toward the restaurant. We loved the light, bright and airy feel of this place. Though, we were only visiting the public areas, pictures online show the same feel throughout the hotel. Surprisingly, prices to stay at Hotel Alessandra start at $175 for their Classic King room depending on when you stay!

We were greeted by a very friendly host and seated. When we arrived there was only another group of about eight people–the restaurant later began to fill around noon. As we walked in, we were taking in all the details of this place. We loved the color scheme, decor and the chairs were so comfortable! It’s a cute place and definitely a photo op place! The seating is setup to accommodate parties of different sizes and they have a nice bar at the other end of the restaurant.

We had the Tuna Tartare and Maine Lobster Roll with fries. I enjoyed the tartare–especially with the bread and my friends really liked the lobster roll. We wanted to try their dessert so we decided to try their Vanilla Crème Brûlée topped with ice cream (coconut maybe?) and it was delicious. I normally do not order crème brûlée, I’m more of a chocolate dessert kinda girl but it was pretty good and very pretty. They also have a private room available–loved the chandelier!  Over all the food and the service was great!

Once we were done with lunch, we walked over to check out the rest of the lobby area. They have several comfortable looking seating areas. Bar Bardot is on the right hand side when leaving Lucienne. Love the look of this bar! They have plenty of lounge seating with large windows with views of Downtown Houston. We definitely plan to return and try some of their hand-crafted cocktails. I see a Happy Hour in my near future! [Happy Hour times: M-F 3p-7p / S-S 3p-6pm]
