Cinco De Mayo: My Three Go-To Margarita Spots

Happy Cinco De Mayo eve! Are you ready to fiesta for Cinco De Drinko?! So, as you may or may not already know, Cinco De Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day but rather the commemoration of the Mexican Army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862–Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on September 16th. Cinco De Mayo is mostly celebrated in the United States, I guess you can say it’s more of an American holiday than a Mexican holiday, ha! Basically another excuse to party and drink with a theme!

Moving on from the two second history lesson…my three go to margarita spots! These are the usual three spots we frequent for margaritas Tex-Mex/Mexican food.

3. Pappasitos Cantina

Who doesn’t love a good Pappasitos Margarita?! Frozen or on the rocks, regular or flavored you can’t go wrong. I personally like the Pappasito’s Reserva Margarita on the rocks. Order the Reserva Rita and get a commemorative glass! You can also build your own by choosing your tequila, cointreau or Grand Marnier pair it with some delicious fajitas and you are set!

2. El Tiempo Cantina

Looking for some yummy and strong margaritas? Then El Tiempo’s got you! You will definitely be good with two tops! My fave is the Coconut & Blue, you can get it frozen or on the rocks. On the rocks for me please! Order you some fajitas and enjoy your margarita…don’t be fooled by the sweetness, the margaritas will get you!

1. Ambriza Social Mexican Kitchen

Ambriza is located in the Vintage Park Area and it’s such a cool place–the decor is sugar skull/Day of the Dead theme! They have several handcrafted flavors but my favorite is the Cucumber & Serrano Margarita with Tajin on the rim–refreshing with a kick! You can ask them to make it spicy for an extra kick. The Passion Fruit Habanero margarita is also pretty good. Give me a Cucumber & Serrano marg, Mexican Street Corn and some Tropical Ceviche with plantain chips and I’m a happy girl! SO GOOD!

For Cinco De Mayo Ambriza will be celebrating with a “Pop-up Artisan Market” with local vendors and of course their delicious margaritas!

You can’t go wrong with either of these places to celebrate Cinco De Mayo! They have the good drinks, the good food just bring the good company!
