Cinco De Mayo: My Three Go-To Margarita Spots

Happy Cinco De Mayo eve! Are you ready to fiesta for Cinco De Drinko?! So, as you may or may not already know, Cinco De Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day but rather the commemoration of the Mexican Army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862–Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on September 16th. Cinco De Mayo is mostly celebrated in the United States, I guess you can say it’s more of an American holiday than a Mexican holiday, ha! Basically another excuse to party and drink with a theme! Moving on from the two second history lesson…my three go to margarita spots! These are the…

    #brunchsohard: Holman Draft Hall

Today is Friday which only means tomorrow is brunch day! Anyone else thinking brunch and rose this weekend? A couple of weeks ago we met our friends for Sunday brunch at a new spot in Houston called Holman Draft Hall. It’s such a cool spot! We arrived pretty early, probably some of the first people there–hey, you never know with brunching, sometimes you gotta get there early so you don’t have to wait! We definitely did not have that issue there, we had plenty of seating to choose from. They have the “indoor” area which pretty much opens up to the covered outdoor area. They have plenty of seating and…

Rodeo Roundup: 7 Things to Do at Rodeo Houston

Howdy! Rodeo Houston is coming to a close but you still have 5 days left to make it out this season! That’s more than enough time to go out there and have a great time with friends or family. This year was my third year as a Rodeo Houston volunteer and I finally made it out there Sunday as a guest. I had only been out there for my shifts this season–I didn’t realize there was only a week left of rodeo! I was given suite tickets for Sunday so my hubby, friends and I made a day of it. There is so much to do, a little bit of…

Emmaline: Must Try Houston Brunch Spot

Who doesn’t love a good Sunday brunch?! My good friend and I made plans to have brunch and decided to try this Instagram worthy place and we were not disappointed! Y’all, let me start by saying: ALL. THE. HEART. EYES. for Emmaline! This new Houston restaurant is such a beautiful brunch spot! Emmaline is described as an American Restaurant with Europen influences. We did not have reservations (I don’t think they take Sunday reservations) so we decided to arrive around opening time. The exterior of the restaurant is painted in all white brick with black window, fence and stair case accents. The beautiful name Emmaline just pops from the white…

    GNO: Chapman & Kirby

TGIF! Who’s ready for happy hour on this beautiful Friday?! (raising my hand). A couple of Fridays ago our dear friend, Mariam (fellow newbie blogger), was in town visiting from London so our group of friends planned a much needed GNO to catch up! Our friend suggested the new restaurant Chapman & Kirby Bar + Kitchen located in EADO (or now known as East Village), which opened Summer 2017. This place is huge! There’s an area set up with booths and tables, another lounge area with couches, a large bar, an area with more casual bar tables AND an outdoor patio area! When I arrived there was plenty of street parking…

    Lunching at Lucienne

So it’s Friday and lunch time and who doesn’t like to get out of the office for lunch?! Especially when it’s a new spot in town! So a couple of my friends and I decide to walk over and check out the new restaurant “Lucienne”, located in the new Hotel Alessandra in GreenStreet downtown Houston. Hotel Alessandra opened its doors in October 2017, it is a very beautiful hotel with simple and modern decor. As you enter the hotel, you are greeted by friendly doormen, a large beautiful stair way and small seating area. You can either go up the stairs or take the elevator to level two where the…
